For the past three years, a number of San Anton Grade 10 students accompanied by their teachers, have spent a week of their Easter holidays in England doing all sorts of adventure activities.
The PGL Centre in Liddington near Swindon was, this year, our home for eight incredible, fun filled and exciting days during the Easter break. Liddington is the newest centre added to the PGL list of centres around the UK, and it boasts 150 acres of grounds and activity areas. These include lakes for kayaking, canoeing and raft-building, archery; Aeroball, zip-wire, abseiling and giant swing.
Most of the physical activities demand a high level of perseverance and team-work, two attributes that San Anton School strives to instill in its students. Besides the physical activities, the students were also involved in field-studies sessions such as the Tree-Top Trail and the Nature Trail.
PGL can be a life-changing opportunity for some children and as San Anton participant Andrew Scicluna, puts it, “It was an amazing holiday. One that will not exactly be topped or forgotten.” His twin brother James added, “I made many new friends, and the evening activities helped us mix with children from other schools, Maltese and English ones.”
The students were accompanied by their P.E teachers Mr. Kenneth Deguara, Mr. Roberto Pisani, Ms. Maria Gloria Camilleri and Chemistry Teacher Mr. Ralph Cassar.
