Mdina Art Experience.

5th March 2010

Under the guidance of their teacher Alison Zammit Endrich, the Grade 11 ( Form Four) Art Class of San Anton School recently spent a weekend rediscovering the wonders of the Silent City as fledgling art students.

It is an integral part of art education at San Anton School to come in touch with local established artists and professionals in order to learn and progress through first hand experiences like painting outdoors.

During this activity, the students learnt to look at the world through the eyes of an artist, taking part in on-site workshops directed by Mr David Pisani in Photography, Mr Anthony Calleja in Fine Arts and Mr Konrad Buhagiar in Architecture who all need no introduction.

The Point de Vue Guest house opened its doors to the enthusiastic group as they spent three days exploring all that Mdina has to offer, also visiting the Mdina Experience, Palazzo Falson, the Carmelite Priory and Domus Romana.

Lessons on perspective and Pen and ink were strengthened as the students sketched balconies and architectural details.

Head of School Ms. Vicki Anastasi commended this educational activity as it is in keeping with San Anton`s ethos of connecting classroom education with the outside world.

The school would like to extend warms thanks to all those who very kindly gave up their time in order to help make this experience an unforgettable one.
