Valletta Art Experience.

Appreciating local contemporary Art is an integral part of Art education at San Anton school.

With this in mind Ms Alison Zammit Endrich recently planned a two day field trip in Valletta for her Grade 12 ( Form 5 ) Art students. The programme included visiting Art exhibitions, St. John's co-Cathedral, St. James Cavalier, The museum of Fine Arts and The museum of Archaeology, where the students appreciated prehistoric Art. Despite the unstable weather, the students still managed to sketch en plein air.

Architect Peter Valentino, an old Antonian, also met up with the group and gave an in-depth explanation of Renzo Piano's design of the new Parlliament building offices and theatre.

The added bonus of the weekend was the opportunity for the students to participate in the Ziguzajg Arts Festival.

Head of School Dr. Joe Gauci commended this educational activity which is in keeping with San Anton`s ethos of linking classroom education with the outside world.
