Outstanding Sports Performance

San Anton School has always always given maximum importance to Sports amongst its students.

Over the past few weeks, Matthew Zammit, a Grade 10 student at San Anton School, has been setting very high standards in age-group swimming. Matthew has broken the record twice in the space of a month, clocking 31.59 in the 50 metres butterfly, during the 5 th Age Group Meeting at Tal-Qroqq Swimming Complex.

In athletics, Stephanie Alden, an Old Antonian, who is currently doing some teaching practice at San Anton, jumped a national record 11.09 metres in the Triple Jump Under-20 category beating older athletes. This impressive performance took place at the Crystal Palace meet in London UK, and the jump was also the best ever in the category at the venue.

Another San Anton student who has been performing well in her sport is Martina Gale, a Grade 9 student, who has recently won a silver and a bronze medal in gymnastics. Martina won her medals while performing on the bars and the beam. This result proved enough for Martina to finish overall runner-up in the National Gymnastics Championships.

The PE Department at San Anton School would like to congratulate these students, past and present, and wish them more success in the future.
