A visit from a Member of the European Parliament

24th February 2014

Dr. Roberta Metsola, a Member of the European Parliament, visited San Anton School on the 21st February 2014 for the purpose of discussing various aspects of the European Union with the Grade 11 ( Form 4) History and Environmental Studies students.

After a very interesting talk, Dr. Metsola answered many students' queries which touched on historical as well as current issues concerning the EU such as its expansion, the concept of borders and the Schengen agreement, a common currency, migration and the possible scenario of the UK opting to pull itself out of the European Union.

Our students felt that the talk gave them a valuable insight into the workings of the EU and praised Dr. Metsola for her ability to answer all questions clearly and in depth.

San Anton School would like to thanks Dr.Metsola for her time and it is hoped that she will visit the next cohort of Humanities students in the near future.
