Malta Mathematics Olympiad

On the 11th April 2013, four of our Grade 11 students participated in the 7th Malta Mathematics Olympiad organised by the Malta Mathematical Society in conjunction with the Curriculum Management and e-learning Department within the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education. The competition was open to students attending Independent, State and Church schools. The aim of the Olympiad is to promote teamwork and positive attitudes towards problem-solving in Mathematics, values which are central tenets of the educational ethos of San Anton School.

The San Anton team, coached by Ms Lucienne Calleja, the Maths Senior Sector Head of Department who also accompanied our students, placed among the first ten out of thirty one participating schools. Congratulations go to Dawn Degiorgio, Nicole Zerafa, Ylenia Borg and Malcolm Manara for the success obtained as well as Ms Lucienne for her work with our students.

We look forward to our next successful participation in similar events.
