The Easter holidays have become synonymous with the UK adventure trip for Grade 10 students at San Anton School. This trip has been organized by the P.E. Department at San Anton for the past 5 years, with this year’s group consisting of 34 students and 4 teachers.
We were accommodated at PGL Boreatton Park in Shropshire, a centre that boasts 250 acres of woodland, activity areas and accommodation. Activities included abseiling, raft-building, Jacob’s ladder, aeroball, fencing, canoeing, archery and quad biking, besides others.
This year’s trip coincided with heavy snowfall and very cold weather in the UK and the centre was blanketed in white for most of the stay. However, the students made the most of it – rolling in the snow and having snow fights whenever the opportunity arose.
Teamwork and perseverance are attributes that stand out on these trips, and these reflect San Anton School’s ethos to encourage teamwork and mutual respect. A student summed it up with “These were the best eight days of my life”. Another agreed – “A trip that will never be forgotten”.
