This year we are pleased to once again welcome no fewer than 22 expatriate families to our school community from all corners of the globe.
With this in mind, the now customary familiarisation morning for all our new expatriate parents was organised on Friday 21st October 2011.
Dr. Joe Gauci Head of School welcomed those present and Ms. Natasha Barthet our Junior Sector Counsellor and Resident Educational Psychologist discussed ways in which parents may further support their children to cope with the move.
Ms. Rosanne Demanuele, Mr. Brian Abela and Mr. Neville Thomas from the Early Years, Junior and Senior Sectors respectively were at hand to answer any questions.
Mr. Ian Refalo, Head Counsellor also outlined the role of the Department of Social and Emotional Literacy and explained the local educational system from a guidance perspective.
Ms. Antoinette Anwar, an expatriate parent who relocated to Malta last year was then invited to share her experiences with all those present and offered her advice which was peppered with humorous anecdotes.
Refreshments were served at the end of the session which gave all the new parents the opportunity to get to know one another.
The event was co-ordinated by Ms. Maria Pia Galea, Head of Administration.
We are looking forward to the next gathering!
