The Christmas Market at San Anton School on the 27th November 2011 proved to be a festive fun day out for the whole family with a difference.
The School was transformed into a Christmas haven and hundreds of visitors visited the various stalls selling gifts, seasonal treats and artisan products.
Children met the “real” Santa Claus in his Grotto and the Live Crib proved to be the main attraction where a wooden stable was purposely built in the School picnic area under a large Carob tree. With the support of local farmers this Stable also housed live sheep, lambs and of course a donkey to transform the area into a typical nativity scene. Children visiting the Christmas Market were helped to dress up in nativity costumes and participate in this unique event.
In fact kids visiting the market were spoilt for choice as they listened to stories, wrote their letter to Santa, watched movies at Rudolph`s Mini- Cinema and participated in Christmas Art and Craft and baking workshops. Bouncy Castles, and a Go-Cart Track also surely delighted the little ones in the play area, whilst every older child wanted to participate in the Pasturi painting workshop or learn about the magical traditions of Christmas all around the world.
The cast of Alibaba – Traditional Christmas Panto also visited the Christmas Market and entertained all those present together with the Stagecoach Children`s Choir.
All those who attended not only enjoyed shopping for presents but also enjoyed the festive atmosphere with other fellow parents and friends from outside the School community since the event was open to all.
It was surely a day to remember !
