On Thursday 18th May, 400 little of our little adventurers in our Early Years Sector, celebrated International Outdoor Classroom Day and carried out their learning sessions in various outdoor locations ranging from the School`s Nature area to Buskett, Ghadira, Gnejna, Ghajn Tuffieha and Girgenti Farm, joining over one million children across the globe!
Anyone who has seen the impact that learning and playing outdoors has on children, knows how powerful such experiences can be. Learning outdoors creates lasting memories, helps build a greater awareness of the environment, provides more opportunities to think independently, and gets children feeling challenged and excited by learning. Children are more active when they play outdoor and it is essential for their healthy development and enjoyment of childhood.
Outdoor Classroom Day is an international campaign to get children around the world learning and playing outside.
For outdoor learning pros like us at San Anton School, this day was a celebration of our existing practices and a chance to inspire other schools to get involved.
