On Tuesday 6th November, San Anton School, once again, played host to 14 teams from 11 schools in the first Primary School Girls Football Festival for this scholastic year.
Under the auspices of the MFA technical centre, teams from various State, Private and Church schools were split up into two groups of six teams each. San Anton School’s girls were matched up to play against St Joan Antide, St Francis B’Kara and Theresa Nuzzo, during the first day of the festival. They will compete against Chiswick House School and Mosta Primary this coming January.
Our girls had a very good start to the festival and, whilst cheered on by a number of parents, won two matches with an identical score of 5 – 0 while drawing the other match 0 – 0. 10 goals were scored in 3 matches and none were conceded which resulted in a good tally to take into the next part of the tournament at St Martin’s College in January.
